Graffiti in the city.
Last weekend the canals of Amsterdam froze over. This is the first time that has happened in about 40 years. The city quickly reacted to this by setting up ice races down the canals. A few friends had told me about it because they were there. Fortunately the weather was nicer when I went, unfortunately I did not get to experience these canal races. I did, however, get to see the remnants of the freeze. There were still ice chunks floating in the rivers.
Finally on to Amsterdam…
I adored this city more than words can describe. Everyone biked here, and I mean everyone!
I’m excited to say that I’m included in that everyone. I biked Amsterdam!
I often find myself in a sticky position of wanting to keep chronologically to my blog and getting behind in photos but ahead in my minds thoughts. There is so much buzzing around in my brain that I want to jot down after my travels but this blog would become like a ping pong match if I did. One post related to Amsterdam sandwiched between two Rome posts. Although this is a tiny dilemma in my life, it is a very fortunate one. Once in a lifetime experiences are happening all around me, too quickly for me to digest.
Please notice that the larger gladiator hides behind a tree! Too cute.

The Spanish Steps.
When we asked why they were so significant here, we all drew blanks. Never-the-less this places was a huge tourist site. So many people were crowded on the steps!
